MK Mobile Pack Odds and Drop Rates Explained
A displayed pack percentage tells you the chance for one eligible random result. It does not promise a reward after a matching number of openings. This guide turns MK Mobile drop rates into practical numbers: the chance of at least one target card, the chance of a zero-result streak, expected copies, average cost, purchase-cap risk and the value of guaranteed milestones.
If a target card has probability p in each independent opening and you open n packs under unchanged conditions, the chance of getting at least one copy is 1 − (1 − p)n. A 10% rate over ten openings is about 65.1% for at least one success, not 100%. Always use the percentage shown in the pack inspection screen and treat explicit guaranteed rewards separately.

How to Read MK Mobile Pack Odds Correctly
Start with the pack inspection screen inside the game. Pack names, prices, purchase limits and possible outcomes can rotate, and older screenshots or community tables may describe an earlier form of the offer. The useful number is the probability displayed for the exact pack you are deciding whether to open.
A percentage is a probability, not a schedule
A 10% target rate means each eligible random opening has a 0.10 probability under the stated rules. It does not mean the tenth opening must contain the target.
Read the exact reward slot
Separate the headline character chance from the chance of any Diamond, any useful card or other slots included in the pack. Different reward slots should not be mixed into one percentage without understanding how they are selected.
Check limits and guarantees
A purchase cap or guaranteed milestone changes the decision even when the random percentage itself is unchanged. Evaluate the random draw and the deterministic reward as separate parts.
Source-of-truth rule: use live in-game inspection for the offer you are buying. The game has previously corrected outdated displayed drop rates and even fixed rounding of possible-outcome chances, so archived screenshots should not override the active pack screen.

How to Calculate the Chance of at Least One Target Card
The easiest way to calculate “at least one” is to first calculate the opposite event: getting zero target cards in every opening.
Example: 10% chance over ten openings
The probability of missing once is 90%. Missing ten independent times is 0.9010 ≈ 34.87%. Therefore the probability of at least one success is about 65.13%.
Important: ten openings at 10% give an expected number of one success, but the chance of getting zero is still about 34.9%. “Expected one” and “guaranteed one” are completely different statements.

Why Long Bad Streaks Can Happen With Fair Pack Odds
Randomness produces clusters. A player can receive several premium cards close together, while another player with the same displayed rate can miss repeatedly. Neither pattern alone proves that the probability changed.
Example: 5% chance across twenty openings
Twenty openings have an expected value of exactly one target copy because 20 × 0.05 = 1. Yet the probability of getting zero copies is about 35.85%. That is why “I opened twenty packs and got nothing” can still be compatible with a 5% rate.
Observed streaks do not estimate the real rate well by themselves
A handful of screenshots or one account's opening history is a tiny sample. It can illustrate variance, but it cannot establish that the published rate was secretly changed. To make that claim responsibly, you would need a large, well-recorded sample gathered under identical pack rules and still account for normal statistical uncertainty.
Expected Copies Are Not Guaranteed Copies
For repeated independent openings with unchanged probability, the expected number of target copies is:
If p = 10% and n = 10, the expected number is 1. That does not mean the most likely outcome must be exactly one, and it does not remove the chance of zero, two or more copies.
Comparing average output
Expected copies helps compare packs when the target, cost and number of openings differ. It is especially useful when deciding whether a higher probability justifies a higher price.
Promising a result
Expected value says what the average converges toward over many repetitions. A single account can finish far above or below that average.
How to Estimate Expected Cost per Target Card
If every opening costs c, the target has constant probability p, and there is no cap or guarantee changing the process, the expected number of openings until the first success is 1/p. The corresponding average cost is:
Illustrative example
A hypothetical 400-currency pack with a 20% target probability has an average cost of 400 ÷ 0.20 = 2,000 currency units per first target success over a very large number of repeated runs.
Do not read this as a budget guarantee. An average cost of 2,000 does not mean spending 2,000 gives the target. You can succeed on the first opening or remain unsuccessful after spending much more.
Expected cost per useful outcome
For account decisions, the more useful calculation is often cost ÷ combined useful-outcome probability. If several mutually exclusive character outcomes in the same reward slot would all improve your account, add those listed probabilities and calculate against the combined value. Target Character Odds vs Any Diamond vs Any Useful Result
Three percentages can answer three very different questions. Always define which one matters before comparing packs.

When probabilities can be added
If one character slot produces exactly one mutually exclusive outcome and the inspection screen lists separate rates for Character A, B and C, their percentages can be added to find the chance of receiving any one of those three from that slot. Do not automatically add percentages across separate reward slots or mechanics that can happen together.
Why useful probability changes as your account grows
A pack can be excellent for a newer account and poor for an advanced one without its published odds changing at all. Once many outcomes are maxed or no longer serve a team goal, the combined probability of a useful result falls even though the raw Diamond percentage remains the same.
How Limited Purchase Caps Change Pack Risk
A purchase cap limits the maximum number of random attempts you can make. That means some confidence targets may be mathematically impossible even if you are willing to spend more currency.
Example: 5% target rate with a 20-pack cap
The maximum chance of at least one target before the cap is about 64.15%. You cannot reach a 90% chance within that promotion by spending more because the game stops the attempt sequence at twenty openings.
Decision rule: before chasing a featured card, calculate the maximum probability available under the purchase limit. If the ceiling is lower than the level of risk you are comfortable with, treat the pack as a speculative attempt rather than a reliable acquisition path.
Guaranteed Rewards, Trials and Pity-Style Mechanics
A guaranteed milestone changes the calculation because part of the reward is no longer random. Those milestone rewards should be evaluated separately from the random card chance shown inside the pack.
Pack opening probability
Use the displayed per-opening chance, purchase count and normal probability formulas for the random outcome.
Trial or explicit milestone
If the active Trial explicitly awards a reward after a stated number of eligible purchases, count that milestone as a deterministic benefit only after confirming that this exact pack advances it.
A guarantee is not automatically a pity timer
Do not assume previous failures increase the next random opening unless the game explicitly states that the odds change. A separate reward after a purchase milestone can coexist with unchanged random odds. Treat the guaranteed reward as an additional track, not as evidence that the next pack itself became “due.”

Do not compare headline percentages in isolation. Compare the probability of the outcome you actually want, the cost of each attempt, the number of useful alternatives and any cap or guaranteed milestone.

A simple efficiency ratio
When there are no complicated guarantees, one quick screening metric is cost ÷ useful probability. Lower can be better, but only when the outcomes being compared have similar strategic value. A cheap probability of an unwanted card is not better than a slightly more expensive probability of a card that completes your main team.
How Duplicate Risk Changes Effective Pack Value
Raw rarity chance does not know what is already in your Kollection. Your personal expected value does. As more possible rewards reach maximum Fusion, a larger portion of the pack's nominal premium chance can become low-value sellback outcomes.
Build a personal useful-outcome list
- Open the pack inspection screen.
- Mark every outcome that directly improves a team, Fusion goal or mode.
- Remove outcomes that are maxed unless their sellback is genuinely useful to your plan.
- Add the probabilities only when those outcomes are mutually exclusive in the same slot.
- Use the resulting combined percentage in the calculator.

Does Opening Ten Packs at Once Improve the Odds?
Opening several packs through a multi-open interface does not mathematically create a better per-pack chance unless the game explicitly says the multi-open has different rules. Ten independent openings at p have the same distribution whether they are displayed one at a time or revealed together.
What changes: the total number of attempts. What does not automatically change: the probability assigned to each attempt. The convenience of opening ten at once should not be confused with a hidden bonus.
If the offer or Trial explicitly adds a reward for reaching a purchase milestone, that extra reward comes from the stated milestone, not from opening the packs simultaneously.

“10% means one in every ten”
No. It means a 10% chance per eligible random opening under the stated rules. Ten attempts still have about a 34.9% chance of zero successes.
“I failed nine times, so the next one is due”
Not under independent constant odds. Previous misses do not raise the next probability unless an explicit game rule says they do.
“Expected one means I should get one”
Expected value is a long-run average, not a promise for one set of openings.
“Any Diamond chance equals target chance”
A broad premium rate can look attractive while the exact character you need remains much rarer.
“A discount fixes bad odds”
A lower cost improves efficiency but cannot make a pool of unwanted or maxed cards strategically useful.
“A bad streak proves the odds changed”
Short streaks are weak evidence because variance naturally produces both lucky and unlucky sequences.
“I can always buy enough to reach 90%”
Purchase caps can put a hard ceiling on attainable probability.
“A guaranteed Trial means the pack itself has pity”

A Practical Pack-Evaluation Workflow
- Define the target. Exact character, any useful Diamond, Equipment, Kameo or roster breadth.
- Inspect the pack in game. Record price, possible outcomes, displayed percentages and purchase cap.
- Mark useful outcomes. Remove maxed or irrelevant cards from your personal value calculation.
- Calculate random risk. Use the at-least-one probability and zero-result probability for the number of openings you can actually afford.
- Check the cap. Calculate the maximum probability available before the promotion stops you.
- Add guarantees separately. Verify whether this pack advances a Summon Pack Trial or another explicit milestone.
- Compare alternatives. Packs compete with Event Tower refreshes, Krypt resources, direct progression and saving currency.
- Set a spending boundary first. Decide the maximum amount before opening instead of increasing the budget because the target “feels close.”

No. A 10% probability applies to each eligible random opening under unchanged rules. Ten independent attempts produce about a 65.1% chance of at least one success and about a 34.9% chance of zero.
Can a long losing streak happen with fair odds?
Yes. For example, a 5% target rate still has about a 35.9% chance of producing zero targets across twenty independent openings. A disappointing streak by itself does not prove that the displayed probability changed.
How many packs do I need for a 50% or 90% chance?

Not unless the game explicitly states a mechanic that changes the odds. Under independent constant odds, the next opening retains the same displayed probability regardless of previous misses.

Calculate 1 − (1 − p)^L, where L is the maximum number of openings. That is the highest at-least-one probability the promotion can provide through random pulls under the constant-odds assumption.
What is the difference between expected cost and guaranteed cost?
Expected cost is a long-run average calculated from probability. A guaranteed cost exists only when the game explicitly promises the target after a known deterministic milestone. Do not treat expected cost as a spending ceiling.
Should I use the chance of any Diamond or the chance of my exact target?
Use the metric that matches your account goal. For one missing character, use target probability. For broad roster growth, combined useful-outcome probability can be more informative than the exact-target rate.
Are community opening results useful for estimating drop rates?
